MTN Cameroon Launches School Fees Payment

Speaking about this exciting development, the Mobile Money Manager at MTN Cameroon said, “We are excited to enable easier access to education through MoMo. With this new service, students no longer have to travel to banks to pay their fees in cash. They must dial the code *126*007# on their phones and follow the prompts to make fast, secure payments directly from their Mobile Money wallets.

The Mobile Money service allows students to pay their fees without standing in long queues at university campuses. A Mobile Money account number is assigned to each school. If necessary, the student can receive payment at an MTN agency.

The payment of registration fees via Mobile Money was successfully tested at the University of Buea last year. The service is now available for all public universities and colleges that have signed a contract with MTN Cameroon.
